How to Disable Events on Your Site

Heads up! This article is intended for Site Managers. Only Site Managers can edit and manage site settings. 

Events and volunteer Opportunities are two completely separate things. Events are not associated with any volunteer hours and they aren't meant to take the place of your volunteer Opportunities. Events can be for anything from celebration events, award ceremonies, fun happenings in your community, and more. 

    But these aren't used to track volunteer participation or submit hours. So, you may find that they aren't necessary on your site. If you find that you don't need the Events feature for your site, you can simply disable it!

How to disable Events

You can disable Events from your main site settings: 

1. Go to Settings > Main Settings

2. Scroll to the Events section. 

3. Toggle the button to Off beside Show Events

  • This removes the Events tab from the navigation menus for volunteers and Programs. 

4. Click Update Settings to save your changes. 

So you know: You can always return and enable Events again by toggling the button back to On.
