If you ever need to update an existing Opportunity for your Programs, you can from the Opportunities area of your dashboard! Here we cover:
How to update an Opportunity
To update an existing Opportunity:
1. Go to Volunteerism > Opportunities.
2. Select the Opportunity Title for the Opportunity you need to update from the table.
3. Update all applicable fields.
4. Click Update Opportunity when you're finished to save your changes!
✏️ Quick tip: If your Opportunity has already received volunteer responses, we highly recommend that you check the box beside Notify respondents of this update? before you click Update Opportunity.
- When you check this box, it triggers a notification that tells users about changes to the Opportunity they responded to.
What if I need to change the duration type?
You can change the duration type for Opportunities created with Flexible, Happens On, and Multi-Date duration types.
- If you want to change the duration type for Opportunities created with Custom or Recurring Shifts as their duration types, you must either Clone that Opportunity or Create a New Opportunity.
How to clone an Opportunity
To clone an Opportunity with Custom or Recurring Shifts:
1. Go to Volunteerism > Opportunities.
2. Select the Opportunity Title you want to clone.
3. Scroll down to the bottom of the Update Opportunity page until you see the Clone Opportunity button beside the red Deactivate Opportunity button. 4. Click Clone Opportunity.
5. A warning pops up to ask if you want to clone the Opportunity. Click Yes to confirm or No to cancel. 6. Now you can change the duration type and update that Opportunity however you need to!
7. Don't forget to click Create Opportunity when you're done!
