Do you need to remove or close an Opportunity? You can either set it to Inactive or Deactivate it! Here we cover:

How do I remove an Opportunity?

You might want to change the status of an Opportunity to Inactive or deactivate it if:

  • You plan to recreate it in the future.
  • You want to remove it from public view for now.
  • You want to remove it before any users respond.
  • It was canceled.
  • It was a one-time event that didn't have any hours submitted to it and won't be recreated in the future.

ⓘ So you know:

  • You can always change the status of an Opportunity back to Active.
  • If the Opportunity has submitted hours, they still appear to you and the volunteers who submitted them.

How to change an Opportunity's status to inactive

1. Go to Volunteerism > Opportunities

2. Click on the Opportunity Title

3. Select Inactive from the Status dropdown.

4. Click Update Opportunity to save your changes!

  • If volunteers have already responded to this Opportunity, then be sure to check the box beside Notify respondents of this update? to make them aware of any changes.

How to deactivate an Opportunity

1. Go to Volunteerism > Opportunities

2. Click on the Opportunity Title.

3. Scroll down until you see the red Deactivate Opportunity button and click it. 4. Select Yes to confirm this action or No to cancel.
