Do you want to collect important information about your volunteers? Do you have questions that you'd like to have answered when a volunteer responds to any of your Opportunities? Custom response questions are a great way to collect the data you need! Click here for more information about creating your own custom response questions.

Examples of great response questions

When a volunteer responds to an Opportunity they're interested in, they're able to also respond to your custom response questions. You can also make answering a response question a requirement before a volunteer can submit an Opportunity response.

  • How did you hear about this Opportunity?
  • Do you have any allergies we should know about?
  • Can we contact you about similar Opportunities?
  • Would you be interested in sharing photos from the Opportunity?

These are only a few examples of the kinds of questions you can ask to get the information you need!

  • Here's what the questions look like when a volunteer submits a response:

So you know:

  • They can't be applied to a specific opportunity.
  • Since they appear on all opportunity response forms, consider what kinds of questions can be used universally!
    • If you provide shirts at every opportunity, then asking what size shirt they wear would be a great question to consider including.
  • You can require them so that volunteers must answer them when responding to an opportunity or you can keep them as an optional step.

How to review response question answers

Want to see how volunteers are answering these response questions? You can export that data for review!

1. Go to Volunteerism > Responses

2. Click Export Responses

  • This exports your Responses data to a CSV—including volunteer answers to the response questions!
